SO PROUD!

We were so proud of all the students that performed at the Jazz Fiddle Student Concert last Sunday! It was so much fun to hear everyone' tunes, and to put their pieces together with Adam on guitar!

During our semester on Jazz Fiddle, students learned about improvising. As a classical violinist, improvising is not something that is taught or experienced in the typical repertoire. In contrast, jazz music is all about improvising which is what makes the style so creative and expressive! Learning to improvise can feel scary at first since it is so different than reading notes and following the "rules" on sheet music, but it can be one of the most exhilarating ways to express one's self through playing music.

We look forward to exploring more improvisation techniques on the violin in future lessons with our students!
